Hello everyone from Spain

Recently we had our Nationals 2015 announcement for all LCG games and all the community went to enrage for a lot of reasons, basically for the poor organization of the events, things like having only 3 weeks between de announcement and the Nationals dates, all the Nationals on the same day, less and undefined prize support than the last year and higher entry fees.

People lost their patiente the last two days and asked for solutions in the Edge Spain Facebook page, we all know it's a waste of time, but the main LCG communities joined for the same goal (AGOT, Netrunner, SW).

Some of us are looking for a new order Razz and we know that the French players "forced" Edge to give the organitzation of the Nationals to the community, I think it began with Agot and this year you achieved the same status with SW.

The reason of this post is clear, how did you achieve this? did you talk only with Edge or you ask FFG something? may you share the deal with the distributor to help us to make pressure to our Edge?

Any advice and any help you can give us will be truly apreciated, we know your National is coming and possibly you don't have time to answer so feel free to answer to this petition when you want Wink

Thank you guys and good luck with your great events this year! we are looking for hearing about it!

Hello Gylderon,

I’m sorry for what happens to your Nationals. I’d like to know how you usually work with these events : is it Edge Spain who decides everything (date, place, entry fee, rewards, communication…) ? Do they organize the tournament (pairings, schedule, referees, judges) ? I remember a couple of years ago AGOT players (Aioria and Ingrid) who did organize (I believe all by themselves) the Battalia del Muro (2013?), has it changed since ?

In France, 2 years ago, Edge recruited a Community Manager to help organized play and to be the referent with Tournament Organizers. Edge and TO “agreed” in almost every big LCG events that :

- Players organize tournaments (pairings etc.)
- The date and place is chosen with both acknowledge. It usually depends on how big is the community (big community means players don’t mind travelling across France to attend these events)
- We usually anounce Nationals 3 months
- We try to avoid having Nationals the same week end (sometimes you just can’t help it). When you have big communities like AGOT, NetRunner, X-Wing (+100 players), they can “play solo”
- About the prizes and entry fee, organizers take care of this, trying to find/create goodies other than official ones (Tournament Kits). Edge take care of the National Kit.

About the StarWars LCG Nationals this year, Edge wished it to take place in Toulouse (south of France) with X-Wing. Our community disagreed because 90-95% were located in the North, and we are still a small community (that means we don’t have 3-4 places in France with at least 20 players in it, as Agot and NetRunner), so most of them won’t do the trip. We proposed to host this event in Paris with a place with enough capacity, and Edge finally agreed.

We never had to deal with FFG (Edge does that with National Kits), and like I said, We have a Community Manager (Nicolas Fuseau) to discuss with and to help things work.

Hope this helps ^^

Hello Budmilka and thank you for the response.

Answering your questions:

- Edge Spain decides all the details about the Nationals, Regionals and Store championships. Date, place, entry fee, prize support and communication.
- Sometimes they have physical presence in the tournaments and sometimes (like the last SWLCG national) they haven't, so the players and the venue themselves must organize the tournament.
- I'm not at every detail about Batalla por el Muro organitzation (but I can ask), but the information I have is that this tournament is a event fully organized by some players of AGOT without any help from Edge, and it seems that this has been a conflict between them for the last years.
- We have a theoretycal Community Manager who is the responsible for everything about the Organized Play here, but he manages everything as he (or his bosses) pleases without taking advice from the community. The community from SWLCG complained last year about the lack of information about dates and place for our National and this year they repeated the same mistake, worst because they give us only 3 weeks between the announcement and the event.

Sadly we discussed this issues via Facebook with a lot of complaints from all the communities, and the response basically is "We don't understand your complaints, we made a big effort as usual and we think this is the right way so we will continue like this FOREVER"... so you can imagine how the rage and frustation is increasing here...

So with this information seems that we have a very big problem with the lack of comunication with Edge here, and solving this maybe we solve everything Razz Our goal and proposal to Edge is that we can help a lot to do a great events so let's do this together, but their response usually is "We are FFG dependant so we can't do as you say".

A lot of changes are needed.

Thanks a lot for your support and your information it will help a lot!
